How to describe Gene Simmons' Dominatrix? Well, according to series writer, Sean Taylor, Dominatrix is Dark Angel meets Crimes of Passion meets Mary Tyler Moore as re-envisioned by David Lynch and Chris Carter. In other words, a hot chick in a tight, skimpy leather outfit kicking ass and trying to uncover a secret plot to take over the U.S., all the while trying to get over her boredom with life in general, figure out her place in the world, and make a good, honest living by shackling her clients and flogging or caning them mercilessly.

Or, in the succinct-yet-apropos words of the series' creator, Gene Simmons, it's "T&A meets CIA."

But who are the main players in this action-filled masquerade? Let's find out:

  • THE MAN—Dom just calls him Doug since he won't give his real name. Why Doug? He seems like a Doug, you know, and well, she knew this guy Doug at college and this guy reminds her of him. Methodical, strategic, calculating. Uncomfortable around women, but a real bastard just to make up for it so they won't find out. All business around men. Harbors cross-dressing curiosity. Collects Barbara Stanwyck memorabilia.
  • ROTTWEILER—A tall black man and former Navy SEAL who is special muscle for "The Company" and doesn't care much for the suits or the people they interact with. It just makes the whole mess a lot messier and means he has to threaten or kill that many more people to keep the secret safe. His a bit of a misogynist, and takes an immediate dislike to Dom. Don't get him wrong, he'd do her in a heartbeat, but she wouldn't like when it was over. Ironically, he's really into Louis Armstrong and The Sex Pistols, but hates pretty much all other music. Anything else about his past is unknown and top secret.
  • ZERO DOWN—Admittedly an odd name, but one this assassin chose for himself after removing all traces of his existence and prior name. Skilled in hand-to-hand and long-range weapons fire, he's a formidable enemy to an unsuspecting Dom.
  • MR. JEREMY VINTON--A thug who is a lot more than he appears. As hired muscle to several movers and shakers, he doesn't know much about what's going on, but he's got a mean right hook and a sharp stiletto in his boot to match.
  • HAPPY JACQ—Jacqueline Toyogama. The yin to Dom's yang. This chick has training and pills. And as soon as she learns that Dom has access to the pills, you can be damn sure she's not going to let it slide. There's something intoxicating about being the only badass chick with superpowers around, and if she has to kill Dom to keep it that way, so be it.
  • EDWIN FALST--A mysterious informant who may be a double agent or he may just be feeding Dom bad info to keep her from discovering the truth.
  • CLIENT 15--A client who pays in cash and keeps his name to himself. He wants the pain and the pleasure, but is secretly learning all he can about Dom. We'll learn more as the story progresses.
